memory of Sam Cobean, whose humor graced the pages of New Yorker Magazine
in the 1940s
& 50s. His book of cartoons, The Naked Eye, has
been published
around the world. Copies of his books are still actively
traded
by his fans. A close friend and co-worker with cartoonist
Charles
Addams (The Addams Family),
Sam Cobean has influenced cartoons and cartoonists for several
generations. Sam Cobean created humor that truly transcends
the
barriers of language, culture, race and even time. The
cartoons
featured in this site were photographed from his original
sketches. This collection is copyrighted. Images may not be
